Barcelona is the second largest city in Spain. It is located on NE coast of the Iberian Peninsula. Barcelona enjoys a Mediterranean climate. The summers are hot and dry while the winter is cool and wet.
Barcelona also has many parks. They have 12 historic parks also. The largest park in Barcelona is the Montjuic. If you want to visit a beach while in Barcelona you have seven to choose from. It has 2.8 miles of coastline. The largest beaches are the Sant Sebastia and Barceloneta. Barceloneta has white sandy beaches and a great nightlife along its boardwalk. Besides the nightclub scene there are also many theaters and venues for live music. The Gran Teatre Del Liceu is one of the most famous opera houses in the world. It has been opened since 1847. The opera house as been subject to two fires over the decades it has been open.
Like many cities that have long histories there are many art museums. The Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art focuses on art after 1945. There are also museums that focus on history and archeology. Also while in Barcelona you can see the brilliant architecture. When heading to Barcelona you can fly right into the city. The Barcelona International Airport is only about 2 miles from Barcelona. Once there you can jet around town on the tram networks or the metro.
